Representative Jim Landtroop Receives Texas Conservative Coalition's "Courageous Conservative" Award

Plainview - Representative Jim Landtroop has been presented the "Courageous Conservative" Award from the Texas Conservative Coalition. He is the recipient of this award because of his conservative voting record during the 82nd Legislative session and his signing of the TCC "Pledge with Texas."

John Colyandro, Executive Director of the Texas Conservative Coalition, stated: "Last session, State Rep. Jim Landtroop was an outstanding freshman legislator who directly contributed to many conservative successes, including voter identification legislation, balancing the budget without raising taxes, and pushing back against the federal government's overregulation. For his record of accomplishment, Rep. Jim Landtroop has earned the 'Courageous Conservative' Award for the 82nd Texas Legislature."

"The Texas Conservative Coalition is an organization I partnered with during session to help fulfill my Contract With West Texas. Their research and information is critical to conservative legislators. I am honored to receive this award, because this organization has a history of demanding truth and effectiveness from legislators and our state government," stated Rep. Landtroop. "I will continue to work with TCC to defend the 10th amendment and further promote government transparency next session."

Representative Jim Landtroop was named the fourth most conservative member of the Texas House of Representatives by the James A. Baker Institute and served on both the Agriculture and Livestock Committee and the Defense and Veterans Affairs Committee. He was Vice-Chairmen Rural Caucus and a serving member of the Republican Policy Caucus Committee. Most recently, he was appointed to represent Texas on the International Energy Council.
