Along the campaign trail, everyone asks why I am running. It is simple really - you deserve a state representative who will fight for conservative West Texas values in Austin. My opponent is a nice guy but simply does not vote as a conservative. We as a state and nation can no longer afford to elect nice politicians who vote the wrong way.

There is a lot on the line. Obamacare threatens our already fragile rural health care system and increased taxation threatens our family farms. Government spending is out of control and shows no signs of letting up. States' rights are being threatened like never before. Lack of border control puts us all at risk and this jobless economy is threatening a second recession.

Like you, my family and I are angry about what Obama, Pelosi, Reid and the rest of the Democrats are doing to fundamentally alter the direction of our country. We cannot stand by and let them continue pushing their liberal agenda.
We must have common sense leaders with the courage to make tough choices - leaders who care more our country's future and our children's future than getting re-elected. We need statesmen, not politicians.
