Jim Landtroop, the Republican nominee for House District 85, is an active
member of his community. As a small business owner, Jim serves over 1,400
clients and helps create jobs. Jim is a community leader who coaches varsity
basketball and is a member of his church worship team. A successful small
businessman and dedicated husband and father, Jim is committed to
representing the conservative values of West Texas families.
Like most West Texans, Jim is tired of government spending too much and ignoring the common sense values and needs of working families. Jim will also fight to repeal Obamacare, balance the state budget, and create jobs for West Texas families.
Jim is an active civic leader involved in many aspects of his community including the Lions Club, Chamber of Commerce, United Way, and the American Cancer Society. In 2006, Jim and his wife chaired the Cotton Baron's Ball, raising significant local dollars for cancer research and patient services. Landtroop was appointed to the Brazos River Authority Board in 2009, where he worked to protect West Texas water rights.
Jim graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in Business Management, and his wife Cathy, is a graduate of Texas Tech University. The Landtroop family helped found Plainview Bible Church where Jim has served as an Elder, a Sunday school teacher and a facilitator of home groups.
Jim and Cathy have been married for 17 years and are the proud parents of three children: Braden (15), Kenneth (13) and Lauren Grace (10).
